The latest CoPilot Live iPhone app update has been approved and is now available via AppStore in North America, UK+IRE, Nordics, Italy and Iberia. It brings a number of performance improvements and fixes based on customer feedback. It also adds our #1 most requested feature: access to iPod music controls from within CoPilot.
Now you can select songs, albums and playlists from the menu and on-screen in CoPilot without having to exit the app. Here’s some screen shots that show how it works.
The update is available for CoPilot Live iPhone North America, UK+IRE, Nordics, Italy and Iberia and is free for existing customers. Simply log into your iTunes account on a desktop computer or check out the updates tab in App Store on your iPhone.
We expect that the update will be approved for France, Benelux, DACH, Australasia and Pan Europe apps imminently

Forget anything I said back in August. This app is fantastic now. The Sept update fixed virtually everything that was horrible about the original version. This is the biggest bang for your buck GPS app in the store.
Australasia – where is that? Never mind – nice update – can´t wait to get it!
Seems like Windows Mobile customers have been ignored, bugs in the program, no qwerty keyboard, no live traffic, no live search for UK !! and all we hear is available soon !!
Windows mobile. Well, really come on now, probably the worst op system known to man!! lol. On the point of copilot greatly mproved and fab app. What I would ask for is a higher refresh rate of movement updates (am using iPhone version) as the app sometimes thinks I’m still on the same route when I turned off..
When will traffic be coming to the iPhone, it was promised back in September. About the only feature missing from an absolutely top notch app.
Well that and average speed camera zones… Rather than a single alert at the beginning, any chance you can change the colour of the road and show the speed alert thing for the duration of distance covered by an average speed camera?
Nice little addition iPod wise would have like to have the covers up though in the background. Best app this year though
Still doesn’t fix the problem i have with trying to use live link and doesn’t seem support want to reply.
Can login fine to the website, try login on the iphone and i’m told invalid password… reset it, and it sends me 2 emails, one with a new password which tells me there’s an account conflict and the original password which i can still login to the website with.
Arrgghhhh!!!!
You talk about your iphone or windows phone not working well and than some one said that the windows have be ignored well you should have got a symbian phone than. You find you have be ignored .Copilot 6 ,7 and now 8
4 days after…We are still waiting for Pan Europe iPhone update…
Did this update to my iPhone Copilot – now whenever the ipod controls are in use (ipod icon active on the nav screen) the screen dims instead of staying bright. Restart app with no ipod control active and ok again. Fire up ipod control – screen dims after a short time…
Hi all!
How can I make this app warn me of turns upcoming earlier? I have the warning settings – 2 miles, 1 mile, 500 yards & 8 seconds turned ON in the settings. However, the voice of the software warns me VERY late when a turn is coming up, sometimes it says it after I pass the junction I was meant to turn into.
Thanks. (iPhone user)
I am having a similar issue with CoPilot Live 8 Australasia (.417) on iPhone 3G. Despite having all those warning settings switched on, I’m only given the last “turn left/right ahead” warning. I don’t believe I’ve yet heard a turn warning saying “in x kilometers/hundred meters, turn left/right” etc.
Any comment from the CoPilot dev team?
Quick reply to my own message (!) – seems that CoPilot Live respects the position of the mute switch on the iPhone. I had the switch on and no warnings were given. Toggled the switch off, and I’ve got warnings galore!
Can’t seem to download latest map update on my iPhone 3GS. After download I’ve restarted app, tried turning off and on phone, even hard resetting device (even have deleted and redownloaded Copilot live8) but the map update is still there when I check for updates. Please help, this update has my address and neighborhood that I’ve submitted to Mapsure.
Thank you in advance for any help.
Are you downloading it directly to your iPhone? If so, download the update from the iTunes store on your computer, this may resolve your issue.
Why does it always default to repeat play switched on?
Nov 13 still no update for Australasian version
Agreed:
. Eagerly awaiting the iPod controld and other updates after having bought CoPilot Live 8 Australasia just yesterday! I guess it’s the App Store approval team, hard at work, eh?
Any news from the CoPilot devs?
Hi Matt
The update for Australasia has been submitted to the App Store so should be available soon

Tim Sergent
When will Live Traffic be available to subscribe to for Europe?
25 November still no update for Australasian version (8.0.0.417)
nearly a month later
I know it’s in Apples hands but is there any news from the developers
I too am puzzled – why is it that Apple approves updates in certain regions while delaying other regions? One would think that the update is substantially similar in each region…
In any case, I’m checking iTunes every day – bring on those iPod controls!
yes you’d think it would just be a mater of rubber stamping it as
you’d think the update is essentially the same as what’s all ready been approved
is this update for Australasian ever going to materialize it’s now December
no word from ALK either
co-pilot update for Australasian has landed !
text to speech optional add on, cost additional $6.00 I think
ipod play list is a bit wacky, if your iphone is in landscape mode the ipod controls are still in portrait mode
still no speed/safety camera’s ??
sygic Australasian has both text to speech and speed/safety camera- no ipod control
is co-pilot going to have speed/safety camera’s for no additional cost like sygic ?
